streszczenie: Tatra Mts soils formed on the granitoide weathering and weathering granitoide covers was studied. These soils are shallow and skeletal, very typical for the mountain regions. Chemical properties and diagnostic criteria for the spodic horizon occurring in these soils place these soils among Podzols. During the podzolisation process i.e. during the biological-geochemical weathering process new layers of clay minerals like smectite, vermiculite and kaolinite or mixed layered minerals containing hydrated interlayer are formed.
